Ropeway
Munich
Architecture
To evaluate the feasibility of a ropeway in Munich to relieve the traffic of the Frankfurter Ring, a comprehensive study was conducted. While developing the stations and towers, we not only focused on optimal integration into the city structure, but also created a consistent appearance of the station typology. A special focal point was the station Studentenstadt, which was designed as a mobility hub. The Park & Ride parking garage, car sharing points, charging stations for electromobility and bicycle parking spaces create a transportation hub that improves the connection to the subway and bus and strengthens multimodal passenger transport. The stations in the area of the Frankfurter Ring were planned with minimal construction volumes, always taking into account the specific local conditions. As with the towers, the structural feasibility was verified by structural engineering support.
