Ropeway
Mannheim
Architecture, communication design
At the BUGA23 in Mannheim, a two-kilometer-long ropeway connects the Luisenpark with the main exhibition area - the Spinelli Park. The two ropeway stations were planned with a minimal footprint. In addition, they will get the very little energy they need entirely from green, renewable sources. Through these aspects it represents the topic of sustainability very well, which will be a big part of the BUGA23. Through the open and light design and the inclusion of natural materials and lots of greenery the stations blend seamlessly into their surroundings. The generous area around the stations provides plenty of space for the arriving and departing visitors. In addition, the numerous integrated seating options invite visitors to linger and enjoy the scenery.
