In collaboration with a manufacturer of special containers, we developed a mobile landing platform for cargo drones. The developed DronePad meets all technical and legal requirements for the take-off and landing of semi-autonomous drones. A key requirement in the design was the quick and easy assembly of the system on site. This is achieved, among other things, by electrically adjustable feet that perfectly level the platform. The standardised shipping container contains all elements of the platform, the loading of the drone, a charging station for the batteries of the electric drone, and a control centre. During transport, the drone itself is safely stored in the container as well. The cargo drone can then provide optimal logistical support for temporary assignments on large construction sites, in agriculture or for other specific transport tasks.
