The future of autonomous mobility is already a reality with "AURO - Autonomous Ropeway Operation". The stations are equipped with intelligent, interconnected technology and can thus function without operating personnel. Thanks to a variety of sensors, the AURO system offers the highest level of safety and reliability. In addition to the integration of various safety technologies such as motion detectors, laser sensors and communication points, it is also essential for autonomously functioning systems to ensure an intuitively guided passenger flow. This includes not only the design of the elements in the boarding area, but also a signage and colour concept that - following the universal design principle - also takes people with physical disabilities into account. This enables barrier-free boarding and a fully automated operating system. For the first time, the AURO technology is in use in Zermatt, where it operates an installation with three stations.
