Silvretta Montafon

Since it began operating in 2021, the Valisera Bahn I in the Silvretta Montafon has represented a technological milestone in Alpine infrastructure. The modern 10-person gondola replaces the former 6-person gondola and connects the valley station in St. Gallenkirch with the Valisera mountain station at speeds of up to 6.5 m/s. At the heart of the project is the forward-looking product design of the OMEGA V gondola cabin, which consistently combines aesthetic innovation with technical precision.

The design concept of the OMEGA V is based on a striking, three-dimensional roof structure that harmoniously integrates technical components into the cabin body. The maximized panoramic glazing offers passengers an unobstructed view of the Montafon mountains, while ergonomic individual seats with seat heating and the integrated Twist-In system for indoor ski racks significantly enhance the comfort of the interior.

A key component of the project is the integration of AURO technology (Autonomous Ropeway Operation). This system enables fully automated ropeway operation using intelligent sensor technology, camera systems, and networked communication. Particular emphasis is placed on intuitive user guidance in the boarding area: Designed according to universal design principles, the system ensures barrier-free passenger flow, allowing even people with physical disabilities to navigate safely without the need for on-site operating staff.

The integration of the cable car into Silvretta Park Montafon underscores the holistic architectural approach. The valley station serves as a modern service center that incorporates restaurants, sports shops, and a hotel. A key element of this brand presentation is the cabin branding, which was implemented directly at the station. The harmonization of technical requirements and high-quality aesthetics creates a cohesive product language.
