The 10-passenger Grindelwald–Männlichen (GGM) gondola, together with the Eiger Express, forms the centerpiece of the visionary V-Bahn project in Switzerland’s Jungfrau Region. The central element of this modern infrastructure hub at the Grindelwald Terminal is the forward-looking product design of the OMEGA V gondola cabin. This generation of cabins combines technological precision with a clean, minimalist aesthetic, specifically developed for global use and demanding alpine environments.

The design concept of the OMEGA V is based on a striking, three-dimensional roof structure that blends the functional suspension system and the cabin body into a harmonious visual unit. Special attention has been paid to the aerodynamic design of the underbody, into which drainage and ventilation openings are seamlessly integrated. The maximized panoramic glazing creates a sense of visual lightness and allows passengers to enjoy an unobstructed view of the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site—featuring the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—during the ride.

Inside the Männliche Railway, the focus is on passenger comfort. Ergonomically shaped individual seats, designed in keeping with the train’s minimalist overall aesthetic, offer a high level of comfort. The spacious and airy feel of the interior is enhanced by sleek interior elements, while state-of-the-art technical components ensure a safe riding experience.

This holistic design approach—in which technical requirements and high-quality aesthetics are harmonized down to the smallest detail—creates a cohesive product language. The OMEGA V at Männlichen impressively demonstrates how authentic innovations are created through an iterative development process.

Complementing the Männlichenbahn, the Eiger Express —another key project—completes the V-Bahn in Grindelwald, with the ATRIA cable car cabin serving as a defining design element.
