The RPD Nexo System (Rope Position Detection) represents a technological milestone in rope position monitoring. It significantly enhances the safety of ropeways through precise monitoring directly at the pulley banks. Using non-contact sensors and a fail-safe bus system, this early-warning system immediately detects rope deviation from the groove as well as irregularities such as blocked pulleys or wear, whereupon the system automatically slows down or stops.

The global market launch of this innovation focused on a holistic approach spanning all disciplines. While the technological foundation is based on decades of expertise, the system was tailored for the market through a design concept. To make the functional benefits tangible for operators, a detailed explanatory video was produced that clearly visualizes the technical details.

A highlight of the marketing campaign was the booth designed for the Interalpin 2019 trade show. There, the RPD Nexo’s extreme durability against environmental factors such as ice, snow, and heat was impressively showcased. Three sensors were displayed under extreme conditions: one was frozen inside a block of ice, another was completely submerged in water, while the third sensor was exposed to high heat. This visual demonstration highlighted the system’s performance even under the most adverse weather conditions. The resulting graphics and trade show photographs were consistently incorporated into high-quality brochures to market the system effectively. This holistic design approach underscores the system’s technological edge and secures the product a strong position in the international marketplace.
