Elektro
charging station
Product design
Salzmann Formblechtechnik, a company specialising in sheet metal processing, uses electric forklifts in its own production, whose charging stations previously stood exposed and unprotected in the factory hall. For these charging stations, a housing was developed by MOJA Design that significantly improves both usability and the visual appearance of the stations in everyday operations.
The guide for the fork tines and the ergonomically adapted cable suspension allow employees simple, back-friendly use, without having to bend down when docking the forklift or manually wind up the cable. In addition, all technical elements – including the cable itself when not in use – are fully integrated into the housing, creating a clean, tidy overall look in the production hall and avoiding trip hazards from loose cables. Particular attention was paid to material selection, using robust, durable materials that permanently withstand daily use in shift operations as well as mechanical stress from forklifts and charging cables.
The cladding of the charging points not only increases functionality and workplace safety but, through colour and typographic elements, also blends seamlessly into Salzmann's corporate identity. In this way, a purely technical component becomes an element that fits coherently into the overall look of the production environment while making the company's brand identity visible in everyday work.
