The 3K K-onnection has created one of the most spectacular cable car connections in the Alps on the Kitzsteinhorn. As the centerpiece of the “K-onnection,” the modern 3S cable car connects the Maiskogel with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area, creating a continuous cable car route from Kaprun up to an elevation of 3,029 meters. During the ride, passengers are treated to impressive panoramic views of the high-Alpine mountain landscape of the Hohe Tauern and the Zell Basin. The facility is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the Salzburg region and provides guests with convenient access to the year-round glacier area.

CWA’s ATRIA cabins are used on the line: The cabins’ product design combines technical precision with a clean, timeless aesthetic and defines the facility’s appearance. A defining feature is the precise yet harmonious lines, which create a sense of open space and offer unobstructed views of the alpine landscape.

Inside, the focus is on comfort and the passenger experience. Ergonomically designed elements and a minimalist aesthetic create a pleasant atmosphere for up to 32 passengers. The modern door system facilitates boarding and alighting with audiovisual signals, enhancing both safety and ease of use. The high level of transparency and the balanced design ensure a pleasant travel experience throughout the entire ride.

The ATRIA cabin is a defining feature of the 3K K-onnection and makes the connection between Kaprun, Maiskogel, and Kitzsteinhorn an international benchmark for modern cable car design and innovative mobility in Alpine tourism.
